Tennis Edmonton Interclub
HCTA is proud to join the 30 year old Tennis Edmonton Interclub tradition for their very first year. Interclub sees teams representing every club in Edmonton and greater areas compete with each other for the title of Interclub champion.
The HCTA is aiming to field a team in every Interclub category, Ladies AM, Ladies PM, and Mens Evening. Each interclub category is further divided into different player skill divisions that accommodate players ranging from rookies to club tennis professionals. Each team is composed of a minimum of 4 players that includes a captain and co-captain. Every team that represents HCTA in Interclub is coached by one of our pros for an hour bi-weekly.
League match format are 6 separate doubles regular sets played by doubles teams put together from the team roster. One point is awarded to the team for each set won. The captain and co-captain are responsible to schedule which players play when during the season. If there are only 4 players on the roster that means those 4 must play every match in the season. A player needs to have played in a minimum of two regular season matches in order participate in playoffs
At the end of a team match there is a traditional social as each home club team hosts the visiting team with food and drinks. Great for players looking to meet new hitting partners.

Tennis Edmonton League
This new league initiative is larger in scope than Interclub as it involves teams formed by groups from every court around Edmonton and greater areas, including clubs. HCTA will be a leading the way by fielding a tennis pro team to represent HCTA and compete in the highest league level flight.
Currently the Tennis Edmonton league hosts only a Mixed Sunday Evening category. Similarly to Interclub the mixed category is divided into different player skill divisions to accommodate the wide spectrum of Edmonton players. Each team is composed of a minimum of 2 male and 2 female players that includes a captain and co-captain. HCTA suggests there are one male and one female captain for each team. Every team that represents HCTA in the Tennis Edmonton League is coached by one of our pros for an hour bi-weekly.
